The 2022 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) barrier draw will be announced at 9:30am on March 2, 2022.

Below is the final field and barrier draw for 2021.

Chris Waller’s three-year-old filly September Run is one of the headline runners for Saturday’s Newmarket Handicap. She was a slashing second in the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) and the extra 200m will suit. During the spring carnival, September Run was a dominant winner of the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m).

September Run has drawn barrier eight with Craig Williams maintaining the ride.

Swats That will begin from the grandstand side after drawing the widest barrier in 18 for trainers Leon and Troy Corstens. Swats That was second in the Coolmore Stud Stakes and third in the Black Caviar Lightning.

Western Australian mare Celebrity Queen has barrier six.
