1. BLACK CAVIAR (2012)

Black Caviar sent South Australian racing fans into a frenzy when she appeared at Morphettville in 2012, packing out that racecourse when appearing in both the Robert Sangster Stakes and the Goodwood (1200m). They were her lead up runs before her trip to Royal Ascot when she held on in the Diamond Jubilee (1200m). In 2013, she retired with 25 wins from as many starts. 15 of those 25 were at Group 1 level.

2. ALINGHI (2005)

The Lee Freedman-trained filly burst onto the scene with a breathtaking win in the Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) in 2004 and went on to win 10 races with four of those coming at Group 1 level. She won this race when it was run in February back in 2005 with that run sandwiched in between a runner-up effort in the Lightning Stakes (1000m) behind Fastnet Rock, before turning the tables on that galloper in the Newmarket Handicap (1200m) that autumn.

3. SHOALS (2018)

A three-time Group 1 winner from the Anthony Freedman stables, Shoals took out the Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) as a three-year-old before retuning in the autumn to take out the Surround Stakes (1400m) and this race ahead of Secret Agenda. The daughter of Fastnet Rock retired with seven wins from 15 starts.

4. PLATELET (2013)

Platelet took out the Robert Sangster Stakes in 2013 and was a consistent performer from the Darren Weir stables, finishing in the top three in 24 out of her 32 starts, winning 10 of those. She defeated Angelic Light in this race in 2013 before winning the Goodwood a fortnight later.

5. MIRACLES OF LIFE (2015)

Miracles Of Life is best known for her fairytale win in the 2013 Blue Diamond Stakes for her trainer Will Clarken and jockey Lauren Stojakovic. Her Blue Diamond win was her fourth from as many starts but she wasn’t able to win again until taking out the Euclase Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville in 2014. She was transferred to the Snowden stable and enjoyed success in the 2015 Challenge Stakes (1000m) at Randwick before closing out her career with victory in this race.
