William Reid Stakes field and barrier draw

Aaron Hamilton in William Reid Stakes 18 Mar 2020
Bivouac

The William Reid Stakes barrier draw was declared on Wednesday morning with a speedy field of 11 to contest The Valley Group 1 sprint.

Star three-year-old and last start Newmarket Handicap (1200m) winner Bivouac has drawn the inside gate which proved a disaster last time he raced at The Valley.

The Exceed And Excel colt never got clear in the Manikato Stakes (1200m) when finishing 2.4 lengths from Loving Gabby who he defeated last start.

Loving Gabby is undefeated in two starts at The Valley and has drawn fairly in barrier 5 as Craig Williams retains the ride.

Scales Of Justice showed a liking for The Valley when taking out the Group 2 Australia Stakes (1200m) two starts back and he’s drawn ideally in gate 3.

The speedy Pippie will be looking to charge across from the outside gate (10) and claim back-to-back Group 1 victories following her all the way win in the Oakleigh Plate (1100m) last start.
