Race 4 – LYLE LINDAU 90TH BIRTHDAY FFA MS PACE (2130m) – 8:34pm AEST
Chicago Bull continues to race well from week to week in the FFAs. He isn’t the intimidating force that he once was prior to a very serious injury in New Zealand but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t warrant respect every single start. OCEAN RIDGE leads the Team Bond charge against the Gary Hall Snr-trained Chicago Bull and tonight’s class looks terrific. Ryan Warwick has options from the inside gate with leading the most likely option. Ocean Ridge defeated Shockwave and Chicago Bull two starts ago in a fast 1:54.4 mile rate for the 2536m. He was then beaten by Talkerup in a race where he could have won easily if things panned out better. One of the pair or Iceenothink are likely to win the race in what should be an entertaining contest.
Race 5 – 2YO FILLIES DIAMOND CLASSIC MS PACE (2130m) – 9:06pm AEST
Group 1 racing at the best harness track in Australia and Greg and Skye Bond prepare two-year-old filly UNCONDITIONAL who has drawn barrier six. She has won two of her three starts including a 14.7m victory as a $1.14 favourite in the first heat. The query here will be where she maps with Just For Love drawn the inside barrier. Unconditional would prove very hard to beat if she was able to lead but may be able to press forward and look for cover on the back of Minor Catastrophe or race favourite Always An Angel who fell in to win narrowly in her heat. She is a key contender here along with Just For Love and Bettor Beach Belle. For a roughie, I like the Aiden De Campo-trained and driven SECRET REACTION. She will require luck but could finish off well.
Race 10 – TABTOUCH.COM.AU MS PACE (2130m) – 11:25pm AEST
The final event on the program is a tricky race to assess with Gangbuster and Courage Tells drawing the best of the chances. It is a wide open race though. COURAGE TELLS is a 12-year-old veteran to be driven by Michael Grantham for Greg and Skye Bond. He is chasing win 38 at start 258 and his chances skyrocket if he can cross Gangbuster to lead the race. His last win came over As Happy As Larry which is excellent form but that was back in January. He is racing consistently and his effort two starts back when second to Mr Kiwi was very good. If he cannot lead, Grantham would be hoping for some cover as Courage Tells can put in a good finishing burst in this company.
