The 3YO fillies kick off the 10-race card at Gloucester Park and Chris Lewis will be aggressive early as he tries to find the lead with SAVVY BROMAC. Trained by Nathan Turvey, the trainer jumps off after being beaten twice at very short quotes and the driver upgrade looks good here. Three starts ago Savvy Bromac won by a space against much easier opposition. This is her toughest test, but Lewis should be able to rate her well out in front. Broadbeach, Star Fromthepalace, Fifty Five Reborn and Nikasa look the other winning chances.

An open affair and Mattjestic Star will likely hold the lead and try to repeat his 1:55.8 effort four starts ago. DREDLOCK ROCKSTAR relished returning to trainer-driver Ashleigh Markham and will look to trail the leader and try to outsprint him late with some clear running. Cant Refuse or Liam Neil is probably the breeze horse and there is a chance one of them drops off with Mattjestic Star likely to be racing at a strong tempo. Dredlock Rockstar sprinted a 27.0 quarter in his win last time and defeated Liam Neil in the process.

Vampiro comes up as the short-priced favourite and he is going to take plenty of catching from the inside barrier. His last start third was excellent and the step up from 1730m to 2536m is no concern as this horse enjoys the longer distance. Mighty Conqueror is the obvious danger but there is no value in either runner. STROKE OF LUCK will drop behind Vampiro at the start and looks a solid each-way chance. I like him mostly for the place but you can’t dismiss the win aspect with Chris Voak driving for Ross Olivieri.

Named after one of the greats of the sport, the Group 3 Preux Chevalier looks a fascinating race. The best horse in the race is PERFECT MAJOR who is a perfect two from two since arriving in WA. He has won four straight and the inside of the second row is the main concern with this horse. Chris Voak will likely get off the pegs and if he settles close enough or makes a mid-race move to the breeze, he is going to take some beating. His sectional times are outstanding for this event and with any luck early to secure a position, he should prove very hard to beat. Euphoric Moment is the main danger in the race along with Alta Intrigue the intriguing runner second up from a long spell.

THEREUGO should fly out from the widest barrier to take up the running with either Marquisard or Dominate The Dojo looking to settle behind the leader; the latter is first up so may restrain at the start. Thereugo drops in class from recent efforts and if he can get away with a bit, which you suspect should happen in this field, he could be hard to catch. He was held up last start on the pegs and does his best work leading. Three starts ago he was beaten 3.8m by Jimmy Mack who would comfortably handle this field. HENWOOD BAY is also a class dropper and can be put into the race after any early speed has subsided. His last win came against a similar field to this.
