Bendigo Tips Sunday December 12

A GOOD YARN ($10 with Sportsbet) might be worth a play at nice odds in Race 6 of the day at Geelong. The veteran has been racing in solid fashion in his two runs this time in and kept coming over the 955m at Moonee Valley when resuming before just missing out behind Donna Natalia over the 1000m at Warrnambool on November 28. In that race, he came out wide as they rounded but couldn’t quite grab the winner. The son of O’Lonhro went 2.5 lengths faster than standard, which are the best last start figures of any runner. He should be primed third up and might look to cross over from barrier 10 in the early stages.

Another that can lob at a bit of a price for us is SAN MARINO ($23 with Sportsbet). The four-year-old comes out of a solid form race at Sundown when 3rd behind Kentucky Casanova and had excuses prior to that when 6th at Donald over the 1200m. The son of Rich Enuff has a bit of a fitness edge on the likes of So Risque and Thunder Peak, while he has drawn to get a very sneaky run from the inside barrier. Look for him to tuck in on the fence in a midfield spot and if the gaps come at the right time he is right in this.

Best bet comes up in Race 9 and it is MORAL FORCE ($2.40 with Palmerbet) that can close the day out as a winner. The promising galloper from the Mitchell Freedman camp has had two runs this preparation and was 3rd on resumption at Donald before looming as the winner at Warrnambool, only to be swamped by Unanimous late in the piece. Both races have provided a number of winners and he was luckless last time when posted three and four wide without cover throughout. From barrier 5, he should be very hard to beat here.
