Here are our Cowra tips for today.

The Bjorn Baker-trained SINALOA (best odds currently $2.60 with Palmerbet) sees the Cowra track for the first time today but brings a bag full of good form into the race and should prove hard to beat here. Last start, the Redoute’s Choice filly beat all but one home (beaten a head on the line) in a Class 1 Hcp over 1200m at Bathurst. She drew barrier eight (of nine) and was the widest runner on the turn and looked the winner inside the last 100 metres, but the winner found the breaks on the inside and that was the difference in the end. She draws the fence today and will get the gun-run from there as she maps to box-seat on settling. Kayla Nisbet is in control today and with that draw, she looks the goods today.

Bathurst galloper IMPERIONESS (best odds currently $3.90 with Palmerbet) is a dual acceptor today (also listed in race two) if she runs here (now that Sinaloa is scratched to run in race two, she avoids that clash), she looks the testing material in this contest. Last start, the three-year-old came off her maiden win to face a Class 1 field at Tamworth where she beat all but one home in the 14-strong line-up that day. She covered her last 600m, 1.8 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this field. Sent out a $26 chance, she drew the car park that day (14 of 14) with Brooke Stower pushing her forward at barrier rise to settle in front. Full of steam in the run home, she ran home strongly but was grabbed on the line by race favourite, The Dramatist. She has drawn wide again today but after early scratchings, it shouldn’t play a part with just the seven runners here. Stower sticks with her as she makes her track debut and if she runs in this event, she should prove hard to beat today.

The Dean Mirfin-trained ARIMATHEA (best odds currently $1.60 with Palmerbet) resumes from a 14-week spell today but on fresh legs, looks the testing material in this company. Last start, the No Nay Never mare ended her last campaign beating all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1300m on her home track at Bathurst. She ran a new personal best that day, covering the trip, 4.3 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this line-up by more than 5 lengths. Along with her stablemate (Imperioness), she also makes her Cowra debut today and maps to settle on-speed from gate one. She has placed twice from three previous first-up runs and has Jackson Searle remaining on board for this contest. Big money has come for her overnight with her opening price of $1.95 now long gone. She looks the one they will have to run down today.
