Race 3 - 1:00PM TROA supports NJT (2000 METRES)
The three-year-olds tackle the 2000m and BLUSHING TYCOON ($5.50 with Palmerbet) can go close at his second run over the trip. The Busuttin/Young galloper was solid when 5th in the $500,000 VOBIS Sires Guineas (1600m) on April 23 before stepping to the 2000m at Caulfield and running 5th behind Elzamee on May 7. On that occasion, he kicked up from the inside barrier to settle up the front and they went very hard but he stuck on well to go more than 11 lengths faster than standard benchmark. They are the best figures that any horse in this race has set. Don’t mind him at Flemington after that run and he should be full of fitness, while there looks to be significantly less pressure up front this time around.
LA CHEVALEE ($6 with Palmerbet) can make it back to back wins when she steps out in Race 6. The Maher/Eustace galloper scored by two lengths on a Heavy 10 at Randwick over the 1600m on April 23, overcoming a wide run in the process. Prior to that she was solid on a Good track at Bendigo when an unlucky 6th in the Bendigo Gold Bracelet (1400m). When stepping up to the 1800m at her last preparation she was a winner at Randwick on the Heavy. Some query on Good tracks but she has produced some solid figures on drier tracks int he past, while she is one from one at Flemington.
Best Bet comes up in Race 8 and it is TUVALU ($2.80 with PlayUp) that should be hard to beat here. The Lindsey Smith-trained galloper has finished top two in all of his eight career runs and had excuses when missing out here as a $1.65 favourite behind Gentleman Roy here two starts ago when pulling up lame. The four-year-old returned rom a 10-week absence to score at the Warrnambool carnival over the 1400m and gets another crack at headquarters. Expect him to improve second up and over the 1600m. If that’s the case he can take this one out.
FLEMINGTON QUADDIE TIPS:
About our Flemington Tipster
Adam Cusworth is RacingBase’s resident form analyst for all Victorian meetings. Focusing on one state (VIC) gives Adam an edge when it comes to knowing the form of each and every runner going around in Victoria. His Flemington Tips generally include a Best Bet, Next Best and Best Value, and sometimes he will throw out an extra tip or two if something appeals. Adam and the rest of the RacingBase team used a comprehensive data subscription to provide them with information and statistics that aren’t available to the average punter due to the high cost of acquiring the information. We pass that information on to the punter in form of benchmark (BM) performance ratings which are calculated against historical data for each track, distance, conditions, wind speed and more.
