Here are our Goulburn Tips for today:

The John O’Shea-trained TAVI L’AMOUR (best odds currently $1.90 with Palmerbet) resumed on a positive note and looks the one to beat here. Last start, the Tavistock filly was fresh off a lengthy 21-week break when she beat all but one home in a 1400m Maiden on a Heavy 9 at Warwick Farm. Along with the winner (Chilko Lake), the pair of them put more than five lengths on the rest of the field and in running, she lost a near-fore plate in the process. Returning to country class company here, she draws nicely in gate three, avoiding any early work and maps to settle in the back half of the field. With Tommy Berry aboard, watch for a big finish from the filly.

The Team Snowden-trained SIR ARTIE (best odds currently $8 with bet365) bounced back with a vengeance at Newcastle and looks an each-way chance for back-to-back victories here today. Coming off an ordinary effort at Hawkesbury when first-up, the Flying Artie gelding turned it all around last start to break through for his maiden win over the 1200m trip. He ran his last 600m, 3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 2 lengths. He also posted the fastest final 600m, 400m and 200m sectionals for that race. Up to Class 1 company today, he maps to settle back in the field (as he did last start) and with Sam Clipperton back aboard, all he needs is clean air in the run home and he can give this lot a real scare today.

Trained at Kembla Grange by Paul Murray, ESPIRITO (best odds currently $3.70 with Ladbrokes) has won his past two on heavy tracks and looks a ‘shoe-in’ against this company today. Last start, the Bel Esprit gelding came off his maiden win (by more than 6 lengths that day) and faced a Class 1 field where he made it back-to-back victories over 1200m on his home track. He ran that trip, half a length quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up. He draws the outside gate today but with his early gate speed, he maps to settle in the first few as he sees the Goulburn track for the first time. Winona Costin has had nothing but success with him and is in the saddle today. He will take beating in this contest.
