Race 2 - 2:10PM PREMIER 3D PAINTING MAIDEN PLATE (1410 METRES)
- Bookmaker Odds Betting Tip
- $2.80 Bet with bet365
The Helen Page-trained JETFOIL (best odds $2.80 with bet365) is second-up here and looks a genuine chance of breaking through today. Last start, the Snitzel gelding was fresh off a lengthy 20-week absence when he took his place in a 1300m Maiden at the Gold Coast. Not disgraced, he finished fifth (of 12), running his last 600m in even benchmarking time, the best here by more than three lengths. Ideally drawn in gate four, he maps to settle just off the pace and has the experienced Robbie Fradd in the saddle. He will find this contest much easier and looks the one to beat.
Race 6 - 4:39PM MID RICHMOND PLUMBERS & SUPPLIERS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1210 METRES)
Gold Coast galloper UNO AMOR (best odds $3.60 with bet365) sees the Lismore track for the first time today but still looks well placed in this company. Last start, the Love Conquers All mare put in a solid performance at Coffs Harbour when she beat all but one home in a BM66 over 1315m at Coffs Harbour. On a Heavy 10 that day, she ran the trip, 1.4 lengths slower than benchmark, setting a new personal best and the best effort here. The stable have removed the blinkers again and fitted visors for the first time for today’s event. Down in grade and ideally drawn in gate three, she will play a major role here.
Race 7 - 5:20PM OATENS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1410 METRES)
To end the day, I like one at odds here who could figure in the finish today. The locally-trained KING FAROUK (best odds $15 with bet365) gets a start (after early scratchings) and nicely drawn here could give this a shake at good odds. Last start, the Poet’s Voice gelding finished third in a BM66 over the mile on a Heavy 10 at Ballina. He ran the 1600m, 3.4 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this line-up by more than 3 lengths. He drops back in distance today but is meeting similar company and has drawn well in gate five where he maps to settle near mid-field. After the claim, he carries less weight today and is a two-time winner on his home track. He ticks enough boxes to be considered well worth an each-way ticket here.
