The locally-trained FACT FINDER (best odds currently $3.70 with Palmerbet) has won two of his past three starts and looks well placed here to rack-up another one today. Last start, the four-year-old made a welcome return here where he clobbered a Class 1/Maiden field over the mile. Drawn wide that day (gate 9 of 11) he was trapped three-deep and travelled back in the field but even with 59kgs to carry, he still finished too strongly for them, going on to win by 3.5 lengths on the line. He also ran the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. He steps in distance today but he is at his peak now and looks more than capable of handling it.

Gosford galloper VANILLI (best odds currently $2.90 with bet365) is three starts into this preparation and at the weights today, looks to have a big advantage on them here. Last start, the Better Than Ready filly came off a big win in a Sunshine Coast Maiden when she stepped-up several notches and took on the Wagga Guineas Prelude. Not disgraced, she finished fifth beaten less than three lengths on the day. She ran the trip out, 3.9 lengths slower than benchmark, the best in this field. After a 4kg claim here, she runs around with a bag of feathers on her back, Coming in, 4kgs under the limit and carries just 51kgs for this contest. She won that Sunshine Coast event on a Heavy 8 so conditions here look ideal. The filly looks the one to beat here.

Canberra trainer Nick Olive makes the five-hour trip to Mudgee today with just one horse on the float as he attempts to take home the Gooree Cup with INVINCIBLE DASH (best odds currently $11 with bet365). Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding resumed off a five-month absence where he wasn’t disgraced in finishing mid-field in the Wagga Town Plate Prelude, coming from well back on the turn. Jumping from the car park that day (gate 15 of 15), he still managed to run his last 600m, 6.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 3 lengths. He also recorded the fastest final 400m and 200m sectionals for the race. Already a two-time winner at the today’s distance, he finished runner-up in the Nowra Cup on a Heavy 8 so conditions look ideal here. He is a three-time winner when second-up which puts him right in the mix today and is well worth an each-way ticket here.
