Race 3 - 3:15PM GREG BURKE RACING BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
The Maher and Eustace-trained FLYING ANNIE (best odds $2.70 with bet365) has top-shelf bloodlines flowing through her and after a promising start to her career, she looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Flying Artie filly came off a first-up Maiden win at Scone when she finished a close-up third in Class 1 company at Canberra over 1000m. She ran her last 600m, 1.1 lengths slower than benchmark, the best in this field. This looks no harder today and she has Louise Day on board for the ride. From gate two, she maps to lead again and fitter for those first two runs, she will take catching here.
Race 4 - 3:50PM TBC DISTRIBUTORS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1460 METRES)
Canberra galloper FINAL SHOWDOWN (best odds $7 with bet365) is in great touch this time in and looks a genuine winning chance in this contest. Last start, the Stratum mare got the better of a BM50 field, here over the 1460m trip. She clocked it, 6 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this line-up. Apprentice, Jess Del Frari was aboard for that win and sticks with her here, having now ridden her to three of her four careers wins. Ideally-drawn in gate three, she maps to settle in the first half-dozen and already a track and distance winner, she looks right in the firing line here today at good odds.
Race 7 - 5:50PM JERRABOMBERRA HOTEL CLASS 1 HANDICAP (900 METRES)
The Canberra-trained LITTLE HELA (best odds $8.50 with bet365) is second-up today and has claims strong enough here to be considered a rock-solid chance at each-way odds in this contest. Last start, the Eurozone mare resumed from a six-month absence when she finished a gallant fourth in a Class 1 Hcp over 1000m at Wagga with Kayla Nisbet aboard. She ran a new personal best that day, running the trip 7.6 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best here by more than 2 lengths. Nisbet sticks with her today after seven previous rides that resulted in a win and four other podium finishes. She maps to settle in the first four here and fitter for that first-up run, she can threaten to bring up win number two today at odds.
