Looking for Quirindi Tips today? Our form expert previews each meeting at Quirindi Racecourse and gives his best bets for the day’s racing.

Here are our Quirindi horse racing tips for today.

The Tracey Bartley-trained TORNADO LIGHT (best odds $4.20 with Sportsbet) is four starts into this preparation and looks ready to pounce today. Last start, the Smart Missile mare stepped up to the mile for the first time and finished a gallant third in a Class 1 at Gosford. She ran the trip, 1.9 lengths slower than benchmark, a new personal best and the best here by more than 4 lengths. She also posted the fastest final 800m, 600m and 200m sectionals for the race. She should find this a little easier and will be rock-hard fit today. With a trouble-free run, she looks a genuine contender here.

Newcastle galloper LEAVE ME SOME (best odds $3.90 with BlueBet) drops sharply in class here and on a seven-day back-up, looks well placed for win number seven today. Last start, the Time Thief mare was caught too far back when she took on city class company and finished mid-field in a BM72 over 1250m at Canterbury. She still ran the trip, half a length quicker than benchmark, the best in this field by more than 5 lengths. She also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. That’s good form coming to Quirindi for the first time. Grant Buckley returns to the saddle today after recent success with the mare. She has drawn wide (gate 10 of 13) but maps to settle mid-field. The top-rated runner here, she will take beating today.

Bookies have just three runners under double-figures for this year’s Cup and among them is the Paul Perry-trained THEO LEGION (best odds $5 with Sportsbet) who is knocking on the door for his next victory. Last start, the Nicconi gelding did it tough as he travelled three-wide most of the way when finishing third in a BM64 over 1600m at Gosford. He ran that out, 5 lengths slower than benchmark, the best in this line-up. He also recorded the fastest final 200m sectional for the event. Mikayla Weir is reunited with him today after tasting success from her previous six rides on the four-year-old. His resume also shows he is undefeated at Quirindi scoring three from three to date. His early gate speed should see him overcome the wide draw here as he maps to settle in the first half-dozen. Currently at generous odds for a galloper boasting that track record and he is certainly a genuine threat today.
