Beauty Generation shoots for a third successive Champion’s Mile
- John Moore looking for a fairy tale ending on Champion's Day
Retiring trainer John Moore will be all-out to finish his last Champion’s Day on a winning note at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Under Hong Kong racing rules, Moore must retire at the end of this season and will be hoping he can leave his mark on Sunday’s gala race meeting.
He has Champion (two-time) Horse Of The Year Beauty Generation lining up for a chance to win an unprecedented third-straight Champion’s Mile and his ninth Group One success as well.
The Champion seven-year-old was below his best when resuming this preparation, however, like all champions do, he bounced back in the Group One Jubilee Cup (1400m) and returned to the winner’s circle.
His preparation for this event was polished off last start with another win in the Group Two Chairman’s Trophy (1600m), making that his 12th victory over the 1600m trip.

There was speculation that this could be the champion’s last race however jockey Zac Purton put that to rest saying the owners are waiting until after Sunday’s big race before making any decision on his future.
Beauty Generation is currently the $1.80 favourite with Sportsbet and has drawn gate five for the 1600m event.
