How to Place a Bet with TAB
How do you place a bet with the TAB?
Go to tab.com.au or access the TAB app on your mobile device. The home page on tab.com.au looks as follows:
On the home page, you can either click a specific race or sport that appears there, otherwise accessing the menu icon in the top left-hand corner of the page will give you more options.
Starting with racing, click ‘Racing’ and another menu will appear to the right.
Today’s Racing will be the most popular choice here as it will show all the current day’s thoroughbred racing meetings.
Any grey race box means that the race has already been run and the top four horses are displayed in finishing position.
Select a race that you wish to bet on. For this example, Warwick Farm Race 5 is the race that we will look at. You will then see the race number, start time, distance of race as well as numerous bet types and the racehorse names, jockey, trainer, their form, weight and Sky Rating as well as fixed odds and tote prices.
In this example, we wish to place a win bet on #3 Miyake at $3.80 fixed odds. Click on the $3.80 for Miyake and the bet slip will appear. Enter the stake amount and you will see the potential return should Miyake win the race.
Click ‘Bet Now’ and you will then have to press ‘Submit’ to place the bet.
How do I place sports bets online with TAB?
Click menu on the home page and select ‘Sports.’ Feature sports will appear at the top with an A-Z list appearing below showing all sports available with TAB.
Like the racing example above, except you will select the sport you wish to bet on. From there, select the event and you will be able to browse for the market that is relevant to what you want to bet on. Click the odds that you like and then enter your stake in the bet slip. Press Bet Now and Submit and that’s all there is to it!

TAB App Review
The TAB app is one of the premier betting applications available with an easy-to-use interface that provides an enjoyable online betting experience. If you haven’t downloaded the TAB app yet, see our section above on how to download the app for both Android and iOS users.
A neat home screen welcomes the user to the TAB app where you will see several key features. The bottom menu is where you will locate the home, racing, sport, watch and account buttons. The top left corner is where Venue Mode is located while the Bet Slip is in the top right-hand corner. A slideshow graphic will change at the top with some of TAB’s current offers and features before a menu appears. You will find Promotions, Today’s Racing, AFL, NRL etc. here. You can slide across to see many more sports and key sporting events such as the US Open and NBA Playoffs to give two examples.
Below the sliding menu filled with sports, there is a Next To Go Racing and Next To Go Sports section that shows the next three events for each, along with a countdown timer until the even starts.
You will find local and international racing markets in the Racing section of the app which is easy to navigate and sports will have a featured sports section at the top before an A-Z section which makes it easy to see your favourite sports.
One huge benefit of being a TAB customer is the live streaming. We have covered TAB’s live streaming in an earlier section. In the TAB app, you will find this via the Watch button at the bottom of the app. From there, you can enjoy Sky Racing 1, Sky Racing 2 and Sky Thoroughbred Central as well as Sky Sports Radio.
Another is that you can watch race replays from earlier in the day or previous dates. This simple addition gives TAB a superior edge compared to their rivals which should appease racing fans.
Overall, the TAB app is easy to navigate and fast to use which makes placing bets extremely satisfying.
