Race 6 - 2:05PM Adelaide Galvanising Industries Maiden Plate (1400 METRES)
Best Value 💰No. 13 MALINONG CLUB $5.50 Bet Now!
MALINONG CLUB (Best Odds Currently $5.50 with Ladbrokes) followed a trial win with a Black Book performance here on debut. She travelled up nicely the fence over 1300m behind Blah Blah Blah, only to become stuck for a run. Claudia Lions hooked her across the heels of that field, and Malinong Club let-down strongly in vain. Drawn shocking here, plus we’re disappointed we can’t find much else for a Value Selection on the card. She lit up all the Video Watcher’s Black Books like a Christmas tree on debut, so we’ll be on here. Like most of the others, she’s an unknown quantity on Heavy tracks, and we’ll hope she can find cover somewhere.
Race 7 - 2:40PM Stoller Three-Year-Old Class One Handicap (1300 METRES)
Best Bet 🏆No. 1 MORTY $2.80 Bet Now!
MORTY (Best Odds Currently $2.80 with Palmerbet) captured our imagination pretty early on last prep. After winning his maiden over 1200m at Bordertown, Morty continued to progress through to some strong 3yo races. He wrote his name into the Black Book when charging home behind Royal Mile at Morphettville. That was over 1600m, and he probably didn’t get the 1800m trip of the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas. Not sure where his best distance range is at just yet, though this 1300m at Balaklava would seem a good start. Kept to the mark with a jump out at Murray Bridge, and we’ll look for him late here.
Race 10 - 4:25PM Agfert Benchmark 58 Handicap (1600 METRES)
Next Best 🥈No. 9 FUNCKIA $4.20 Bet Now!
Harder here, yet did like the way FUNCKIA (Best Odds Currently $4.20 with Bet365) travelled up throughout. Not thrilled about having one of our better bets go around in the last of ten on a bottomless track. Once again the wide draw also rubs some salt in too. Is what it is, the price is there so we’ll take it. They’ll be using all of the Balaklava track, just with that strong North-Westerly, cover will be a premium. There’s not many going around on Wednesday who are tried in the conditions, and Funckia is no different. A lot of Jake Stephens’ homebred’s do handle it though, and we’ll hoping Funckia gets through it just fine.
