Race 3 – 1:30PM No Fuss Event Hire Maiden Plate (1600 METRES)
SWEET GOLD gets her chance to graduate from Maiden grade when she steps out in Race 3 of the day. The Chris Waller-trained galloper has placed in nine of her 11 career starts with five of those coming in her five runs since coming over from Germany last year. She was close in some ok form races at Moonee Valley and Sandown at her most recent preparation and resumed at Ballarat on June 14, doing her best work in the last 400m of the race to finish within two lengths of Sacer Vates after a wide run. At her second run last time she improved by five lengths on benchmark figures when 3rd at the Valley and was just one length slower than overall benchmark. A similar effort will see her go very close to taking this one out.

Race 6 – 3:00PM BM64 Handicap – RMBL Investments Rising Stars Race (1300 METRES)
Race 6 is a BenchMark 64 and LAKE’S FOLLY should be hard to beat. The Anthony Freedman-trained galloper was a winner in this grade at Moonee Valley three starts ago when resuming and has been posted out wide at her last two when placing at both Sale and Morphettville. While she was outclassed by the winner in Adelaide, her last start benchmark figures are five lengths superior than those of any other rival and the 1.5kg claim for Lachlan Neindorf gets her down to a competitive weight. She will be hard to beat.

Race 7 – 3:30PM Bolton鈥檚 BM64 Handicap (1600 METRES)
Looking for one at a bit of value in Race 7 of the day and if the first emergency, AMERICAN FLYER, can sneak into the field she can go close at big odds. The Leon & Troy Corstens filly resumed with a win in Maiden grade and did a couple of things wrong when finishing out of the money at both Caulfield and Swan Hill. At her last start, she tackled a BM58 on the Ballarat Syntetic and settled back in the early before overcoming traffic at the top of the straight to charge home for runner-up to Gina Lola. She ran two lengths quicker than benchmark in that race and a similar run will see her go close here. She will get back from the wide barrier and with a solid tempo ahead of her she is well worth a crack at the odds on offer.
