Race 2 - 12:45PM Woolshed Inn Maiden Handicap (1100 METRES)
Best Value 💰No. 4 SCENIC HOST $9.50 Bet Now!
SCENIC HOST (Best Odds Currently $9.50 with Sportsbet) resumed with an encouraging first-up effort in a 1000m maiden at Naracoorte. She wasn’t the best away, yet didn’t seem to lose much ground at the start either. Nice low action in the Soft 7 conditions, she also remained well balanced on the tight turns there. Her sharp turn of foot caught the eye, and we were keen to follow. Different setup here with the longer straight of Bordertown, plus cops an extra 100m in trip. Scenic Host would seem well placed to handle the Heavy track conditions, and may pay to follow here.
Race 3 - 1:20PM Bordertown Pumps & Refrigeration Maiden Plate (1550 METRES)
Best Bet 🏆No. 6 EXALTED DENNIS $2.80 Bet Now!
EXALTED DENNIS (Best Odds Currently $2.80 with Ladbrokes) gives the impression of being an honest little trier. Stable threw him into the deep end somewhat at his first prep, and he was okay behind some good 2yo’s. His first-up run this time in bodes well for a race of this caliber. Exalted Dennis couldn’t quite cross to find the fence, choosing instead to sit three-wide the speed. Stuck on well over that 1400m journey, not beaten far to the fast-finishing Whiskey ‘N’ Women. Stepped to the 1800m second-up where he drew wide. Sent forward by Ryan Hurdle, and Exalted Dennis gave a good kick by the 400m. Understandably had enough late, and while the winner, Celtic Valour put a space on them, Exalted Dennis wasn’t beaten far from second. That will work out as a good form race, and Mitch Aitken can send him forward to control the speed once again.
Race 6 - 3:05PM McCarthy Transport Benchmark 62 Handicap (2000 METRES)
Next Best 🥈No. 4 CAMPOBASSO $5 Bet Now!
CAMPOBASSO (Best Odds Currently $5 with Bet365) finds a nice weight relief under Eliss Wong while getting out to a trip. Happy to see him back to country class too and on a Heavy track following recent efforts. His last win came in July last year on a heavy track this trip at Warnambool. His runs both at Gawler and in town have seen him push forward before not being beaten too far from the winner. Comes out of a strong rating race behind Jaamint last start, where he was a little disappointing late. Perhaps looking for further now, and this is definitely easier.
