Caulfield ‘Price Push’ & ‘Race Rescue’ Plays
Saturday’s metropolitan racing in Victoria takes place at Caulfield where a nine-race card is highlighted by the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m).
Here are our ‘Price Push’ & ‘Race Rescue Plays of the Day:
Race 2 – 12:25PM TAKE IT TO THE NEDS LEVEL HANDICAP (1100M)
Peter Moody has taken over the training of OUR CAMPANA from Colin Little and she resumes in what looks a winnable race for her.
She just missed in a nice race at Pakenham first-up last time in work over the 1200m then won next couple in town with some authority.
Last time she was over the 1100m at Caulfield she showed nice acceleration last 200m to put the race beyond doubt in a couple of strides.
Luke Nolen should be able to position her nicely in behind the speed before the corner and if he can have an ounce of luck once balanced-up she should get her chance last 200m.
She rarely runs a bad race and with nice barrier and change of environment she looks a safe bet to use the Palmerbet Race Rescue.
Race 7 – 3:35PM NEDS SIR JOHN MONASH STAKES (1100M)
Seems appropriate to use the Palmerbet Price Push in Group 3 company and what looks the best horse at the meeting from the Godolphin stable in VIRIDINE.
He relished the heavy track conditions at Royal Randwick last start when finished all over them with best sectionals of the day winning with something in hand.
Comes to Melbourne and Damien Oliver takes the mount in what looks a winnable race.
Looking for Olly to settle him in behind the old boy Jungle Edge and if he can ease off heels into the clear soon after straightening he has the turn-of-hoof to put this race beyond doubt final stages.
With advantage of Price Push he looks an attractive best of the day.
