Here are today’s Darwin Tips:

We have been happy to take on MR CASHMAN (Best Odds Currently $3.60 with BlueBet) at the short quotes since joining the Clarke stable. We have managed to reap the rewards as Masterati proved too slick both times over shorter distances. Racing didn’t get any easier for Mr Cashman from there either, as he next ran into the very fast Bel’s Banner. It was good to see Sonja Wiseman take a hold early into the race, allowing him to finish off much better over the 1100m. Steps out over 1200 metres now and will find some good speed to follow under leading stable rider Jarod Todd.

Lightly raced galloper THE ALBION (Best Odds Currently $6.50 with Bet365) has notched a couple of victories already in his short career. Won on debut over 1200 meters back in July and the market hasn’t really picked up on him since. Won a Restricted 58 race over this track prior to being tipped out and we backed him first-up over the 1300m. Likes to roll to the front in his races as he did over 1300m that day where he would’ve had a good blow afterwards. Drawn wide no spoil, however, should be further improved by the run. Barry Huppatz knows the horse well having won on him previously, and reclaims the ride here.

Impressive first-up winner RAAZOU (Best Odds Currently $2.50 with TAB) was well supported in the betting ring on resumption. New to the Garry Clarke stable, Raazou began quickly off the inside draw and was urged to press the advantage by Jarod Todd. Quickly broke the field up in that Restricted 58 race while still had one taking him on in front up until turning. Loved the way he shrugged the challenger with his change-up speed and continued strongly through the line. We followed up on him second-up and are at a loss to explain the performance. Guess we’ll just put a line through the run and butter up again.
