Here are our Donald Tips for today:
BRAZEN BULLY should be hard to beat in Race 3 of the day at Donald. The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained galloper has had three starts and has placed at his first two of those before stepping out at Geelong and running 5th behind Amateurish over the 1347m trip. The son of Bull Point engaged in a bit of a speed duel early on in that race, setting a fast tempo early on before just fading late to finish just over two lengths away. He went 3 lenghts slower than overall benchmark figures, which is seven lengths superior than what any runner in this race has ever produced. He gets the blinkers on for the first time, while he has drawn perfectly in barrier 4 with Lachlan Neindorf to ride.
Race 8 is a BenchMark 58 over the 1620m and FOURNAISSE should find this easier than a last start effort that saw him place 10th behind Saccharo in a Saturday race at Flemington on January 9. On that occasion, the four-year-old settled last in a slowly run race but did produce the fastest last 800m before landing four lengths from the winner. Prior to that, he won by a big margin in a BM64 at Kyneton. He carries weight for this assignment but went more than a length faster than standard at his last run, which is the best last start figures of any runner. Only Soweto Haze has produced something superior since the start of 2020. From barrier 3, he should enjoy a nice run in transit and it will be no surprise to see him fight out the finish.
