A mammoth 10-race program hits Dubbo today and we wait until late in the day for a Zoffany mare to go back-to-back.

Race 9 – 5:05PM WAYNE MALLISON PAINTER AND DECORATOR CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)
Locally-trained by Kody Nestor, BELLSZOV BOURKE has made a big impression since hitting the racetrack where just one of her five starts saw her finish unplaced. Beautifully bred, by Zoffany out of a Bel Esprit mare, she finished in the money at her first three starts before she put in a shocker here in a Maiden Plate. She sat outside the leader to the turn, then went ‘via the cape’, running right off the track, costing her any chance of a podium finish. She drew gate 12 of 13 that day which didn’t help her cause. Nestor sent her to the paddock after that for a four-month break. Resuming, she defied the odds, on fresh legs, carrying 58.5kgs and jumping from the car park in gate 11 (of 11), she gave nothing else a chance as she settled in front and was never troubled, winning the event by 1.5 lengths eased near the line. Her racing mannerism appears to be under control now, as she looked a real picture winning that last start maiden. The barrier gods have finally shone over her today as she jumps from gate two and after a winning ride last start, Anthony Cavallo retains the ride. Going on her last start performance, she looks the testing material here.
