The redevelopment of Gawler Racecourse was completed in 2010 with the track boasting an 1840m circumference and a home straight of 300m compared to its previous straight length of 200m.

NEW ROMAN has been racing consistently for trainer Andrew Clarken. Missed the kick first up midweek at the Parks track. Hunted through well enough in the small field and chased Fabulous Flipper to the line. They ran a sharp time that day, and New Roman left a good gap back to the rest. Since ran out a comfortable winner at Murray Bridge, with the two behind him proving to be pretty handy. Not sure they got it right by leading in town last time. Just jumped so well that Eaton had to remain positive on the horse. I’m sure she’ll look for something to follow from their inside draw here, while still racing handy.

Well, we Black Booked NEODIUM from last weekend’s strong win. Really didn’t think we’d be seeing him at Gawler next, and lumping 62kg’s whilst being allotted barrier 12. Anyway, that’s what faces him, and we’re going to follow. The show he has put on at his past couple of wins have nothing short of outstanding. With pure, sustained speed, Neodium kept putting himself into the picture early over 1400m on the Parks track. The latest was an amazing win, making short work of barrier 13 with 60kg’s on his back. The Hatrick beckons, and so does the collect line in the betting ring.

WHEN STARS ALIGN has been a handy horse for us to follow. We Black Booked him from his run in town last prep. His trainer Kylie Mckerlie proceeded to find the best out of him on his home track of Port Augusta. She’s sent him into the care of former Alice Springs trainer Scott Westover, who’s just sort of been peppering the goal-face since his return to Adelaide. We Black Booked the horse again this prep following his effort in a fast-run race in town two back. Not sure what the go was last time, nothing really in the Stewards Report, and he’s better than what he showed. This does look like a nice race for When Stars Align to bounce back in.
