Looking for tips and best bets for horse racing at Gawler Racecourse? Our form analysts give you their best Gawler tips for a profitable day of punting.

The redevelopment of Gawler Racecourse was completed in 2010 with the track boasting an 1840m circumference and a home straight of 300m compared to its previous straight length of 200m.

We took the price about QUANDOQUANDOQUANDO (Best Odds Currently $17 with TAB) when he ran a bottler at Port Augusta. The gear changes suggested that Eran Boyd would be instructed to ride for cover if possible. Wide barrier made things difficult for her, however she managed to snag the big fella out the back early. Boyd very nearly became a genius with ride of the year after somehow taking a split to race clear. Unfortunately for us, there was another horse sweeping outside them all and coming with momentum. Ikara did knock us all off in the end, with Quando++ leaving a gap to the rest. Different kettle here, coming off the flat dirt surface and onto a Heavy track at Gawler. Really do like this horse from such an underrated stable and keen to follow. We collected well for the place last time, and they’ve upped the price further on him again.

We were happy to be on Cypto Currencey this track and trip three starts back, and he duly saluted. Part of our reasoning was his race fitness over Gawler specialist, DON’T DISMISS (Best Odds Currently $8 with Palmerbet). It went to script, with Crypto Currency pulling out plenty to deny his rival. Today, we’re happy to come back to Don’t Dismiss, as they’ve both had another couple of runs under their belts since. Add to Don’t Dismiss being ready to peak into his prep, he also meets Crypto Currency with a 2.5kg swing. Ryan Hurdle was absent from the saddle that day too. He has partnered Don’t Dismiss for three for his past four wins, all of such here and over this trip.

Wish this was slightly further than 1200m, however FIGHT FOR FREEDOM (Best Odds Currently $4.40 with Ladbrokes) races well here. We landed him at the big odds at Balaklava on a Heavy track a few preps back. That was a Heavy 8 over the mile and when he was a fit horse. We’ll have to find out how he goes on the deep Heavy second-up. He certainly showed that he’s come back well with a flashy run this trip on resumption at Murray Bridge. Surely they’ll be rushing up the middle by this time, and the affected track might negate the shorter trip. Hopefully he can settle in the first half for Jake Toeroek, because there’s not a great deal of speed in this,
