RACE 1 - 1:30PM BET365 TOP TOTE PLUS MAIDEN PLATE (1147 METRES)
Next Best 🥈No. 6 MNEMBA $4.80 Bet Now!
MNEMBA might be worth a play in the opening event of the day. The Michael Kent-trained mare comes off a long break that stretches out over a year but showed a bit in her two runs, which were at Moe in the spring of 2019. She led them up on debut before just going down in the last 50m of the race. At her second start, she was slowly out before settling at the tail and the daughter of Helmet then ran on strongly in the closing stages. She went five lengths faster than standard benchmark over the last 600m of that 1100m race en route to going just two lengths slower than overall figures. That measures up pretty well to the likes of Gutsy and while she is a risk after such a long break, the talent is there and she is in astute hands.
RACE 2 - 2:00PM ELEPHANT & CASTLE HOTEL 3YO MAIDEN PLATE (1347 METRES)
Best Bet 🏆No. 12 PERFECT ZED $2.20 Bet Now!
Best bet comes up in Race 2 with PERFECT ZED set to go one spot better than a debut effort that saw her finish a narrow runner-up at Warrnambool on November 6. On that occasion, the daughter of Toronado did a stack wrong, botching the start before tracking wide and racing greenly in the straight. She went just a tick slower than standard benchmark and only Energy Within has produced something slightly faster to date. With improvement to come at her second run she should be very hard to hold out.
RACE 6 - 4:00PM RMBL INVESTMENTS RISING STARS RACE BM64 HCP (1247 METRES)
Best Value💰No. 3 OUR GIRL SILKE $6.50 Bet Now!
OUR GIRL SILKE is a solid contender in Race 6 of the day, which is a BenchMark 64 over the 1247m. The seven-year-old appeared in the recent Grey’s race on Oaks Day at Flemington and settled handy to the lead before fading into 8th position beaten three lengths. She drops sharply in grade and at her two runs prior she placed at both Kyneton and Mornington. The daughter of Alamosa went at a bit of a solid clip last time and might be ridden a bit more quietly from barrier 9 this time around. The 2kg claiming apprentice, Alexandra Bryan, takes the ride and the pair can go close.
