SHE KNOWS IT ALL might be worth a play in Race 2 of the day at Mt Barker. The Steve Wolfe-trained galloper hasn’t shown much in her two career starts to date but should find this easier than her second career start that saw her finish 9th of 10 runners at Belmont back in July. In that race, she took on some handy types as a then two-year-old when finishing six lengths behind Continuance. While she was well beaten, she went just 2.6 lengths slower than standard and no other horse has produced better figures in their careers to date. The stable must be respected in anything they contest out at Mt Barker and she should be handy from barrier 5.
Race 3 of the day is a Class 2 and BRAGWELL looks to be the one. The Steve Wolfe-trained galloper was a Belmont Maiden winner when resuming last spring before producing some handy performances in much more stronger company than this. He was 6th, beaten just over a length in the Fairetha Stakes (1400m) before placing 5th in the WA Guineas (1600m), running on from the tail that day. He went 3.5 lengths slower than standard in his maiden win, while in three of his other four runs he went quicker than standard benchmark. Those performances should see him be very hard to beat against this lot.
Race 7 - 4:50PM TABTOUCH MT BARKER CUP (2000 METRES)
The feature is the Mt Barker Cup and CLASSIC JACK can make it a hat-trick of wins when he steps out in the $35,000 affair. The Roy Rogers-trained galloper was a winner over the 1850m here two starts ago before heading to Albany and scoring over the 1900m in a Rating 64+. That was the fourth run of his current preparation and at his last campaign he narrowly missed out at Northam before going a tick faster than standard benchmark when 6th in Saturday class over the 2100m at Belmont. At his last run, the son of Frost Giant produced the fastest last 400m before winning by more than two lengths. There is more depth here but he has drawn well in barrier 5 and gets the steer from Chris Parnham.
