THIS KID ROCKS been racing around the top lot for most of his career and has now finally found himself in a position where can come back a touch in class, albeit carrying the top weight even after the claim for Caitlin Jones. Knocked off a couple of trials at home in readiness for the prep then hasn’t had the best of luck around the barrier draw, though never really finishing far off the good horses. Should get the perfect smother between them with the only real speed coming from Mr Hamilton. Carries weight well and gets his chance today with his preferred conditions likely.

ROTHMOORE on the verge of a break-out prep. Always been pretty handy yet looks to have gone to a new level, hence making our Black Book for his Lohnro like win at Morphettville Parks two back. In trouble with nowhere to go that day, Holder calmly got him off heels late into the straight and Rothmoore powered away for a good win. In less than favourable conditions last start, he threatened to chase down Territory Titan momentarily while still putting a good gap back to the rest. Gifford Hill would seem made fit to order for a horse like Rothmoore with his pattern of racing and the kinder surface helping him to get through his runs okay. Some promise of rain both Friday and Saturday wouldn’t harm his chances either.

DON’T DISMISS brings some pretty handy formlines into this event with both starts this time in being sound. Noticably made late ground out wide here 1st up against a tempo not really suiting those coming from well back. The winner, Silverhawk of course, has since come out to score impressively again. Black Booked Don’t Dismiss off his 2nd up run last time. Wasn’t an unlucky or a hard run or flashy, just really liked the way that he dropped his head and relaxed throughout before running on nice enough behind Territory Titan and Rothmoore. As noted in that Reveiw, there are a few options available for this horse and Grant Kluske did nominate him for the 1600m today as well. I’m guessing that would’ve been due to field sizes with the possible concern of not making the ballot. Seems to have found the right race, now he just needs a touch of luck for Teagan Voorham off the awkward draw.
