Race 1 - 12:30PM AIR FORCE CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
Best Bet 🏆No. 1 DJANGO DREAM $2.80 Bet Now!
Winning three of his seven starts to date, DJANGO DREAM returns from a city gallop and looks well placed here to bring up win number four today. Last start, the Dissident gelding took on the big guns in a BM72 on Randwick’s Kensington track where he found out what city class was all about. He finished second-last that day but ran the 2400m trip out, 2.8 lengths above benchmark, which is the best here by more than 5 lengths. He drops back to the mile the trip today and will surely find a Country Class 3 contest a lot easier than last start’s challenge. He is giving a little weight here to the rest of them but after his Class 2 victory here two starts back, he looks to have enough in his armoury to take this one out.
Race 2 - 1:10PM DOLLY TEER 50TH MEMORIAL CAPTAINS FLAT CUP BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
Next Best 🥈No. 5 TIME FOR PEACE $4.40 Bet Now!
Rosehill galloper TIME FOR PEACE has come back full of spirit this preparation and looks a genuine winning chance today. Last start, the Time For War filly finally shook off the maiden tag at Newcastle. Leading from the outset, the filly showed them a clean (2) pair of heels and held them at bay to win the 900m event. She covered the trip, 6 lengths above benchmark, the second-best here by just half a length. Drawn to be on the pace again (in gate 2), with Jay Ford remaining in the saddle she will take catching again.
Race 5 - 3:07PM AADI DEFENCE FORCE CUP (1460 METRES)
Next Best 🥈No. 4 ONSETTLING DOWN $3.90 Bet Now!
Locally-trained by Mike Petrovic, ONSETTLING DOWN is in a purple patch of form and looks right in the mix here to continue on with it. Last start, the Delago Deluxe gelding made it back-to-back victories when he took out a BM70 contest over 1400m at Canberra. He effort to cover the trip, 3 lengths above benchmark is second only to Joe’s Joy here who is resuming today. Jay Ford was aboard for both victories and remains aboard today. Drawn the fence here, the five-year-old does no early work and maps to settle mid-field on the fence. This puts him in good steed for a big finish and a third-straight victory today.
