Here are our Queanbeyan tips for today.

The Barbara Joseph-trained MR ALOYSIUS (best odds $2.70 with bet365) is a track specialist and third-up today looks the testing material. Last start, the Roadhog gelding was second-up off a 17-week spell when he lined-up in a BM65, here over 1460m. Trying to lead all the way, he looked home inside the final 200m but taking advantage of the cut-away rail, he grabbed on the line by Bring It Bella and had to settle for second prize on the day. He ran the trip, 1.5 lengths slower than benchmark, a new personal best and the fastest in this field. Down in grade here, he is ideally drawn in gate three and maps to settle on speed again. After the claim, he carries the same weight as last start and already a winner when third-up, he will take catching today.

Tipping Mr Aloysius to win the first of the day here suggests that ignoring the chances of his last start conqueror BRING IT BELLA (best odds $4.60 with Sportsbet) here could be very costly. The Sebring mare was third-up last start where she drew the fence and sat right behind the pace. In the run home, she was still two lengths behind Mr Aloysius when the cutaway rail come into play. Jockey, Jake Pracey-Holmes took full advantage of that and steered the mare inside to eventually join and head Mr Aloysius near the line to take home the chocolates that day. She ran that trip, 1.4 lengths slower than benchmark, a new personal best for her and 6 lengths quicker than her rivals here. Now three starts into this preparation, she should be rock-hard fit and is yet to miss a podium finish from four starts at this track. Already a two-time winner at the track and distance, the boxes are ticked for a forward showing again today.

Canberra visitor MORE EXCITEMENT (best odds $4 with bet365) has performed well at both starts on this track and looks well placed here to go on with it today. Two starts back, the Dissident mare made her track debut where she beat all but one home in a 1460m Maiden (on a Heavy 8 that day), beaten a nose on the line. Then last start, she returned here and avenged that loss (on a Good 4), beating home a Class 1/Maiden field over the mile. She ran that out, 5 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this field and she also posted the fastest final 800m-400m sectionals for the contest that day. Today, she gets the gun-run from gate four where she maps to settle just off the pace, in the first half-dozen. Fitter for four starts this preparation and in top form, she will take beating here today.
