Race 4 - 3:00PM CAFE ON SINGLE CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)
Best Value 💰No. 5 POWER BELLS $4.00 Bet Now!
Trainer Kris Lees has two from his Gold Coast stables engaged today, and one of those is POWER BELLS who lines up here second-up and ready to play. The lightly-raced Husson mare has had just seven starts to date and has finished top-four in her past six. Last start, she resumed from a 20-week spell and face a BM58 over 1280m on a heavy Muswellbrook track. She travelled wide the entire trip and did well to finish fourth, beaten less than 1.5 lengths that day. She drops 2kgs here and will strip fitter from that run. She should find this easier and be there at the finish.
Race 5 - 3:40PM RH & AE DELLAR BUILDER AND ROACH PLUMBING F&M BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
Best Bet 🏆No. 3 VERY SHARP $2.70 Bet Now!
Scone galloper, VERY SHARP has been looking exactly that since resuming and should take beating here. Two starts back, the Bull Point filly came off a lengthy 35-week break and did well to take home second prize in a Class 1 over 1000m at Muswellbrook. Then last start, she took on a BM58 over the same trip at Warren where she drew the car park that day in gate 12 (of 12). Again, she was trapped wide and did her best to beat all but one home that day as well. The barrier gods have been more generous today as she jumps from gate three. She should enjoy a nice sit, two or three pairs back and fitter for those two runs, prove hard to hold out today.
Race 7 - 5:00PM COMMERCIAL HOTEL WERRIS CREEK BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
Next Best 🥈3 MEYER $4.20 Bet Now!
The second of the Kris Lees runners here today is MEYER who looks well placed to make it a double for the stable. Two starts back, the Written Tycoon mare finished a close-up second in a Class 3 over 1600m at Taree. Then last start, she raced on her first heavy track which she handled well, being second-up with 59kgs to carry. Unable to match it with the winner, she was nosed-out of second prize in the BM66 contest over 1500m at Muswellbrook. Back on top of the ground today, she should be at her peak after four runs this time in. Aaron Bullock sticks with her after partnering her in her last two races. She looks the testing material.
