Here are our Quirindi horse racing tips for today.

The Scott Singleton-trained NICCIROSE is second-up today and makes the trip down from Scone to see the Quirindi track for the first time but can figure here. Last start, the Nicconi gelding was resuming from a six-month break when he took on city class gallopers in a Class 3 Highway at Randwick over 1200m. From the car park (gate 12 of 14), he used up plenty of juice early to eventually cross and lead. There he remained until he felt the pinch inside the final 200 metres where he weakened to finish mid-field that day. He ran the trip, 3.5 lengths slower than benchmark but none of his opposition here recorded a better effort. The five-year-old has again drawn wide today but he is dropping sharply in class as he returns to country racing. Go on his effort three starts back where he destroyed a Class 3 Highway field at Randwick, winning that race by six lengths on a heavy track. If he can reproduce anything like that form here, the rest will just see the back of him.

Another Scone galloper making his Quirindi debut is BROTHER BASSY who has recently found his mojo and looks a real threat in this contest. Last start, he was at his peak when he destroyed a BM66 field at Tamworth, putting 3.5 lengths on them over the mile trip. He ran a personal best that day, covering the trip less than half a length slower than benchmark which is best in this field in recent racing. Jake Pracey-Holmes rode him for the first time that day and has the reins again in this event. He maps to settle mid-field with cover and carrying less weight today looks right in the mix again.
