Here are our Rockhampton race tips for today.

Locally-trained by Jared Wehlow, IRRUPT (best odds $2.90 with Neds) is back on his home turf and three runs back should give us a bold sight today. Last start, the Spill The Beans gelding finished third, yet again, here in a 1200m Maiden. Doing his best work late, he came from mid-field where he was tightened for room near the fence, before getting clear and running home strongly to collect the minor prize on the line. He ran that out, 9.9 lengths slower than benchmark, but that rates the best in this line-up. Wehlow steps him up a little in distance today which looks ideal for him after three runs back. He will be running on again and should be there at the finish again.

Also locally-trained, WHYKAYOH (best odds $4.40 with Bet365) is three starts into this preparation and now looks ready to produce his best today. Last start, the Fighting Sun gelding was coming off two very ordinary performances (after a 14-week spell) where he took on Class 3 company for the first time and did well to beat all but one home that day. Coming from well back on the turn, he ran home strongly to finish the better of the field, giving a clear indication that more ground could be the go. He ran his last 600m 4.1 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up and posted the fastest overall sectionals in the race as well. He steps up to the mile today and will do no early work jumping from gate two here. Fourth-up today, he should be at his peak and will give this a real shake.

Local Trainer Tim Cook saddles-up SIRFINA here (best odds $2.10 with Bet365) and surely, today we will see the ever-consistent galloper record his first home-track victory. Last start, the Choisir gelding looked the goods leading on settling but found Molongle Surprise just a little stronger in the run home, having to settle for second prize that day. He ran the trip, 1.7 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this line-up and that was a new personal best for him as well. Drawn the fence today, Ash Butler sticks with him and after three minor placings from four starts at Callaghan Park, he is fourth-up here and should be ready to pounce.
