Race 2 - 2:35PM LONGSTOCKING BREWERY CLASS 3 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
Best Value 💰No. 7 BENDETHERA $21.00 Bet Now!
Up against an odds-on favourite here, BENDETHERA still has some claims here and with just enough runners for three place dividends, warrants an each-way ticket here. First-up after almost a year off the scene, the Denman gelding was impressive when finishing second in a BM50, here over 1400m. Then last start, he stepped sharply in grade where he took on a Class 2 at Moruya and did well to finish third that day in the 1425m event. He steps up to the mile today and the stable feel another class rise is within the gelding’s capabilities. Brendan Ward re-joins the galloper and in the small field, could give this a real fright.
Race 4 - 3:50PM MERIMBULA WHARF AND AQUARIUM RESTAURANT BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1000 METRES)
Best Bet 🏆No. 2 CONCRETE $2.45 Bet Now!
Stepping up in class today, the Joe Cleary-trained CONCRETE did enough last start to suggest he can go back-to-back here. Last start, he came off a four-week let-up where he faced a BM58 field at Queanbeyan over 1200m. Carrying 61kgs, the Fastnet Rock gelding led from barrier to box, putting almost three lengths on them in the end. He up in class today but is in form and at peak fitness. He drops back to the 1000m sprint here where he has three top-two finishes from six attempts at the trip. He can get away with this today.
Race 5 - 4:25PM ISABELLA FRANCHI MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
Next Best 🥈No. 6 FREAKY FRECKLES $5.50 Bet Now!
Drawn out today, the Kembla Grange galloper FREAKY FRECKLES is capable of showing up in this contest. The Al Maher mare wasn’t that far away in her first two starts back off a 22-week spell. Then last start, she was third-up at Kembla Grange in a BM64 over 1400m where she sat three-deep and back in the field to the turn. Then in the run home, she made up some ground, hitting the line well to finish just under four lengths from the winner. Fourth-up today, she should be at her peak and looks in the mix in this company.
