Race 4 - 3:30PM LIQUOR LEGENDS CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1207 METRES)
Next Best 🥈No. 5 RAPIDITY $4.80 Bet Now!
The Jamie Stewart-trained RAPIDITY is fitter for two runs this time in and lines up here a solid winning chance today. Last start, the Duporth mare tailgated the leader into the straight but couldn’t quite bridge the gap in the run home, finishing a gallant second in the BM58 over 1200m at Goulburn. In a slowly run affair, she ran her last 600m, 7.5 lengths slower than benchmark that day but her rivals here fared worse at their respective last starts. Race favourite, Sebago is the only runner here to have more than a maiden win to boast about, however the five-year-old gelding spots Rapidity 4kgs in weight and will have to run her down as he maps to sit back in the race. Jordan Mallyon was the pilot at her last Sapphire Coast start and is legged aboard here again. Sitting just behind the pace, the five-year-old mare should be threatening near the turn and with a clear run, can go on with it here.
Race 6 - 4:50PM MERIMBULA REALTY MERIMBULA CUP (1607 METRES)
Best Bet 🏆No. 8 ZOUNIQUE $4.80 Bet Now!
Third-up today, the Luke Pepper-trained ZOUNIQUE enjoys a huge weight drop and looks more than just a threat in this field. Last start, the Zoustar gelding was second-up and showed plenty of improvement from his first-up run. He lined up in Class 2 company over the 1600m at Wagga and settled last in the field. He ran home well to finish mid-field in the end with 60kgs on his back that day. He ran his last 600m, 3.2 lengths quicker than benchmark that day, the only runner here to finish better than benchmark at their last start. Although finishing unplaced, he ran a personal best at Flemington six starts back, covering the mile trip that day, 9.3 lengths quicker than benchmark. His PB is more than 8 lengths better than his closest rival here. Ellen Hennessy gets her first ride on the four-year-old and after her claim, he carries just 53.5kgs today, a 6.5kg drop from last start. He won his Maiden when third-up and has the right boxes ticked here to do it again.
