STRATHALBYN TIPS – june 10
RACE PREVIEWS 🧐
Race 1 12:10Pm GOOLWA CENTRAL MEATS/SABOIS DISTANCE MAIDEN PLATE (2050m)
STAR QUEST probably deserves to have broken his maiden by now. 3 back over 2000m was safely held by Aguante while never allowing Act Of Aggression to get away from him. Complete forgive at Bordertown before backing up a few days later taking on Act Of Aggression again. Trapped 3WNC the entire and forced to push on, Star Quest proved his stamina with one last dive at the short priced fav late. Takes on another odds on pop here who should be very hard to beat, just think if Anna Jordjso can have him out and rolling early to follow the leader, he could prove very hard to pick up late.
Race 5 2:30pm NORTHPOINT FLEURIEU/SABOIS F&M BM62 (1100m)
THE PUBLIKIN finds a similar set up to her break through win here two back when she stalked Fabulous Flipper and the speed before going to her and putting the race to bed early. Grant Kluske since sent her to town where she wasn’t beaten far to Almadrava without finding a lot of galloping room and he now brings her back to her home track. Exalted Lauretta probably holds the key a bit here too, they wanted to roll forward last start and I’m sure they will push up there on the quick back up and with the claim. Looks like things should fall the right way for Paul Gatt and The Publikin.
Race 7 3:40pm HYGAIN 0-58 HCP (1200m)
SAND CAT rarely far away and has run into some serious form of late. Tough on pace win at Gawler 3 starts ago before picked up by the swooper Four Of A Kind late. Massive run in town last start when got well out of her ground to come with a strong run on which she perhaps peaked late. Emma Hubbard stable keeps ticking over the winners and they’ve once again placed their charge beautifully here.
Race 8 4:25pm COMMERCIAL HOTEL BM58 HCP (1350m)
MABEL JOSEPHINE bursting to win one and looks a good way finish the day with Kristi Evans electing to find a race for the mare at home. Couldn’t do much about the slow tempo on Saturday with Sophie Logan forced to come back on her or face being trapped while a quality filly in Really Discreet controlled the race early. Had a good go at picking her up late to miss by about half a length, leaving a gap back to the rest. Doubt Mabel Josephine would’ve taken a lot of harm for the run and she’ll be every chance to break through again here.
