Experienced filly, SWEET RHAPSODY (Best Odds Currently $3.70 with palmerbet) can put two wins together early into her prep. Resumed with a win when she wasn’t best away over the 1100m at Ipswich. Sheriden Tomlinson circled the field on her to be in a striking position on straightening. Sweet Rhapsody did all the right things to grind out a strong win, landing by over a Length in the end. This came off the back of a strong workout with Mishani Miss in a barrier trial leading in. She’s yet to win from four attempts this track, however there doesn’t seem much upside amongst her opposition today.

Not convinced with the favorite, Bustedup heading to 1200m this early into his prep. He may be the best horse in the race, just happy to bet around him at the quote at this stage. This leads us to SHADOW OF TIME (Best Odds Currently $13 with Sportsbet) to see if we can’t upset the apple cart. Thought his first-up run this time in was very similar as to when he returned last time. Stepped slowly on both occasions, then always chasing tails in a blow-out run. Second-up last time, and Shadow Of Time jumped smartly from an outside gate before being made to do some work. Eventually found the lead, only to be stalked by the winner, Chapelco. This was over 1300m here, and while Chapelo found the better of him, Shadow Of Time left a margin back to third. Jumping from the inside gate here, and back to the 1200m, we’re happy to play Shadow Of Time on the Each-Way basis.

Taking 29 race starts to break his maiden, COME IN SPINNER (Best Odds Currently $8 with Bet365) had proven a bit of a nonny early on. He looked fantastic during his casual barrier trial romp at Deagon, showing that perhaps this horse had turned the corner. Blew the start first-up to chase strongly out wide and just miss in a three-way go. Followed that effort with a close-up fourth in a mid-week city maiden, before the stable chose something a bit easier. The trip out to Beaudesert proved to be just the ticket, with Come In Spinner racing away for a soft win. He’s been a consistent place getter, and that first win can often be the hardest to find. Seems to have come back a different horse, and the market is letting us on at that Each-Way quote again.
