GLAMDAM can break the Maiden tag in Race 4 of the day at Terang. The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained galloper has been knocking on the door in recent times, having placed in her past four races and last stepped out at Ballarat over the 1600m on April 6, filling the exacta behind Wisaka. In that race he settled just behind the leaders and they went hard in the early stages. The daughter of Kermadec went for home a long way out and stuck on well, despite copping a bit of a bump with 100m to go. She went 1.9 lengths slower than overall benchmark figures, which is more than five lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner, while at her start prior she was runner-up to the highly promising galloper, Groovy Kinda Love, who has since come out and toyed with her rivals in a BenchMark 64. She has the speed to cross into a spot from barrier 13 and will be hard to hold out at the business end.
The Terang Cup is the highlight of the day and HEART OF PUISSANCE can go on with the job after smashing his rivals at Warwick Farm on March 31 over the 2200m. The four-year-old from the Maher/Eustace camp announced himself with some strong efforts at the tail end of 2019 and was placed in the Sandown Guineas (1600m) but was off the scene for a long time after pulling up lame in the 2020 All-Star Mile (1600m). He has taken a bit of time to get going since but was very impressive at his first go at 2000m and beyond at Warwick Farm, stepping up from a 1550m race at his start prior to go eight lengths faster than standard when defeating Alakahan by more than four lengths. The penny might have dropped for the son of Puissance De Lune and the support in the early betting is a positive lead to his chances.
