We pinpoint the best racecourse jockeys and trainers in our daily track specialists report.

Results based on trainer and jockey strike rates and Return On Investment (ROI) for punters throughout the 2019-2020 season.

Here are our Tuesday Track Specialists for April 28:

SALE TRACK SPECIALISTS

Jockeys

When Damien Oliver and Craig Williams head to Sale, it pays to take notice as they have 60% & 55% winning strike rates respectively. Neither of the top hoops ride at Sale this Tuesday so we look to those jockeys that are. Of all the jockeys with a significant number or rides at Sale, CHRIS SYMONS has the best strike rate (26%) with five wins and three placings from 19 rides. A positive ROI of +83% makes him a profitable hoop to follow at Sale. Symons heads to Sale for just one ride on Tuesday.

Race 1 No. 2 Benefactress ($13)

Trainers

PATRICK PAYNE’s horses always seem to run well at Sale, and while he has a 28% Win rate with four winners from 14 starters, he has racked up a further six placing giving him a 71% Place rate. ROI on Payne’s runners is a respectable +29%. Payne saddles up three runners on Tuesday.

PAUL PERRY has the knack of getting some roughies up at Taree, and while his winning strike rate is relatively low at 16% with seven winners and 10 placegetters from 44 runners, ROI is a massive +208%. Perry has five runners engaged at Taree on Tuesday.

Race 2 No. 11 The Spell ($10)

KEMBLA GRANGE TRACK SPECIALISTS

Jockeys

KOBY JENNINGS’ winning strike rate (21%) at Kembla Grange is bettered by Hugh Bowman, Nash Rawiller, Tommy Berry and James McDonald who only venture to the track when good rides attract them. Jennings is another that makes the odd appearance at Kembla having ridden 19 horses this season for four wins and five placings. He’ll significantly add to that tally on Tuesday with six rides, and with a positive ROI of +231%, he’s worth following.

Race 1 No. 13 Murungal ($14)
Race 2 No. 11 She’s Sureel ($41)
Race 3 No. 7 Duenna ($2.80)
Race 4 No. 9 Bigger Than Thorn ($9)

MACKAY TRACK SPECIALISTS

Jockeys

ELYCE SMITH and BRAD PENGELLY are the most dominant jockeys at Mackay but with each having a full book of rides, it’s hard to suggest backing all.

Trainers

RICKY VALE and JARED WEHLOW have good strike rates and positive ROI at Mackay but none compare to ALAN JONES who has a 40% win rate and a massive +259% ROI. Jones trained four winners and two placegetters from 10 runners and saddles up three value chances on Tuesday with gun hoop Elyce Smith to take the ride on two.
Race 2 No. 15 Brookville ($12)
Race 8 No. 17 The Clang Affair ($23)
Race 9 No. 5 Ten Goal Polo ($19)
