Here are our Warren Tips for today:
Dropping significantly in weight here, DIVINE JEWEL looks set to take on the challenge of stepping up to the mile and returning to the winner’s circle. Last start, she settled near last in the 1310m event at Dubbo. The field of 12 were spread across the track in the run home where the Rip Van Winkle mare looked for run nearer the fence. Doing her best work over the final 100m, she stormed home to grab second prize, beaten a neck on the line. She drops 6kgs here and welcomes back master reinsman, Greg Ryan who has had dual success with her in the past. At her peak now, the six-year-old should prove hard to hold out today.
Second-up from a three-month spell today, Gilgandra visitor, PATRICK MAY looks a solid each-way chance in this contest. The lightly-raced four-year-old resumed last start at Coonamble where he battled on gamely in the Class 2 event finishing fourth, beaten less than two lengths on the line. Here, he steps up to 1200m where he already is a track and trip winner. Andrew Banks has partnered the gelding to both his career victories and remains aboard today. Together, they shape up here as a winning chance in this field.
Last-start winner FRITZ’S FACTOR comes off city and provincial racing here and looks well-placed to take this out. First-up at Warwick Farm, the mare clearly needed the run, finishing unplaced over 1100m in BM72 company. Then last start, boasting a strong second-up record, the five-year-old did it again, beating home a BM64 field over the 1100m trip at Gosford. Coming off a four-week freshen-up here, Reece Jones retains the ride after his last-start win and claims 1.5kgs for this event. She maps nicely from gate five and will give this a real shake.
