WELLINGTON TIPS – june 4
Race 5 – 2:45PM OVER THE LINE RACING BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (900 METRES)
Scone trainer Brett Cavanagh will make the 250klm trek to Wellington with his in-form filly BIT OF A BEAUTY, confident he has found the right race for her. After winning a Class 1 at Tamworth, first-up off a 17-week spell, she then travelled to Muswellbrook to try her luck in a BM58 contest. There, she carried 58.5kgs and after leading most of the way, fought like a tiger but had to settle for second prize that day, beaten a whisker on the line. She has drawn out a little here but with her early gate speed, should manage a forward sit with cover. She looks well-placed in this field and third-up here should strip even fitter.
Race 8 – 4:40PM ONE STOP AUTOMOTIVE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)
The All American filly ALL HOLLYWOOD is in great touch of late and looks the testing material here. Two starts back, she finished a close-up third behind Sticks ‘n’ Stones, here in a BM58 over 1100m. Then last start, she drew wide in gate nine against similar company at Dubbo and over the same trip, she came from behind to win by more than two lengths, going away from them in the end. She faces similar graded gallopers here but being in mixed company, she will carry the same weight as she did at Dubbo. Ron Simpson remains aboard and despite drawing the same gate as last start, she still looks the one they have to beat.
