Race 5 - 3:50PM NO EXCUSE FOR ABUSE - DOMESTIC & FAMILY VIOLENCE AWARENESS WEEK CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1350 METRES)
Best Bet 🏆No. 8 MOLLYCODDLE $6.00 Bet Now!
The James Cummings-trained MOLLYCODDLE comes off a last-start maiden win here and looks nicely placed to go back-to-back today. Two starts back, the Lonhro filly was first-up off a 15-week spell when finishing second in a Gosford maiden over 1200m. Fitter for that run, she then lined up in a field of 12 here over 1350m and ridden further forward that day, proved too strong for them, winning by over a length across the line. She has the outside gate today but is partnered by Jason Collett for the first time. Down 2.5kgs on her last run, the Godolphin filly can take this one out.
Race 6 - 4:30PM SKY RACING SUMMER PROVINCIAL SERIES- HEAT 2 - CLASS 5 PLATE (1350 METRES)
Next Best 🥈No. 1 GREAT DANGER $5.00 Bet Now!
Locking horns with city-class gallopers of late, the Kris Lees-trained GREAT DANGER drops back to country grade racing here and should make his presence felt. Last start, he was fresh off an 18-week spell and wasn’t disgraced when finishing less than three lengths from the winner in a BM72 over 1200m at Canterbury. The Doomsday gelding will appreciate the step up in distance here and fitter for that first-up run will stretch this field to the limit. Ideally drawn in gate three, Aaron Bullock returns to the saddle and after having prior success on the five-year-old, will give him every chance today.
Race 7 - 5:10PM WYONG EQUINE CLINIC 4YO&UP BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
Best Value 💰No. 7 SAVVY VALENTINO $7.50 Bet Now!
He’ll have to do it from the outside gate, but SAVVY VALENTINO is more than capable of snatching victory here with just a little luck in running. Last start, the Savabeel gelding was first-up after 23 weeks in the paddock. He drew wide in a field of 13 at Kembla Grange over 1400m. Coming from well back in the field, he hit the line well to finish fourth in the BM64 contest, beaten just over two lengths in the end. Tim Clark is reunited with him (for his second ride) and whilst drawn wide, he is unbeaten in two previous second-up runs and looks right in the mix here.
