Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas Tips – stick with the Boom horse
- Dry track needed for Boomsara.
- Can lead all the way with peak fitness.
If the rain stays away, Boomsara is the one to beat in Saturday’s $2 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) at Gold Coast Racecourse.
Trained by Chris Munce, the Spirit Of Boom gelding has won three and placed three from nine starts, and his two worst runs where on a Soft 7 and Heavy 8.
He showed his class early finishing 2nd to Sesar and beating home Lean Mean Machine in the Group 3 Ken Russell (1200m) at Gold Coast, and his other two runs at the track are both wins.
First-up this campaign, Boomsara finished 2.7 lengths from the unbeaten Zoustyle before finishing one length runner-up behind that galloper next time.
Last start in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) Boomsara was forced to take up the running from barrier 12, and he couldn’t have been more impressive winning by 4.5 lengths.
Having drawn barrier 18 on Saturday (13 without emergencies), Boomsara is likely to roll forward again and give them something to catch at a track that clearly suits.
Fourth-up he’ll be at peak fitness, and I think he can go to another level and score a dominant win.
Outback Barbie is favourite but I just can’t see her turning the tables on Boomsara after he beat her convincingly last start.
I don’t rate the form of Star Fall and think he’s well under the odds, while Bondi looks the testing material having performed well in Group 1 company on two occasions.
