The final field and barrier draw for Saturday’s Group 1 Might And Power (Registered as the Caulfield Stakes) will be released on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.

Below is our assessment of the 2021 edition of the race:

A small field of six runners will face the starter for the 2021 Neds Might And Power which is worth $1 million in prizemoney.

Superstar gelding Zaaki is the headline acceptance for the race and the Annabel Neasham-trained seven-year-old comes off a two-length victory in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m).

Prior to that win, Zaaki was a winner of the Group 2 Tramway Stakes (1400m) first up.

Zaaki has now won five straight races; he captured the Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m) back in May by seven lengths.

The Cox Plate (2040m) favourite has drawn barrier four with Craig Williams riding.

Jamie Richards prepares five-year-old mare Probabeel who chased home Zaaki in the Underwood Stakes. She has drawn barrier one with Brett Prebble retaining the ride.

Homesman, Nonconformist, Nickajack Cave and No Effort round out the runners for the Group 1 feature.
