Ballarat Tips 24/7/2023

BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 8 No. 7 ONE OUT- ($2.25)

We close off with a BenchMark 58 over the 1500m and ONE OUT can end the day a winner. The three-year-old has run well at her past two starts, which have been at the track and trip. She was runner-up behind Kodiak two starts ago when making up some good ground late in the piece before again filling the exacta, this time behind Sistine Explorer on July 11. Those two put a big gap on the rest and she was strong through the line. The daughter of Dissident comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner and is the one to beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 2 No 4 JAZ TYCOON- ($2.80)

Nice debut effort by JAZ TYCOON and the Greg Eurell-trained galloper can go a few spots better here. His first start came on the Synthetic at Pakenham over the 1200m on July 3 and he settled back in the field of 12 before reeling off the fastest late splits to run 5th. The son of Written Tycoon went 1.5 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is three lengths better than what any horse in this race has produced. Step up to the 1400m looks perfect and he should be hard to hold out at the business end.

BEST VALUE 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 1 No 6 FORTUNATE GAL – ($8.50)

FORTUNATE GAL has taken a bit of time to get going in her career but can go close at her ninth career start. She should have finished closer when switching to the Synthetic on June 23, finishing 6th over the 1600m. At her most recent start, the locally trained galloper stepped up to the 2100m on the Synthetic and closed off well behind Nishino Crescent, finishing runner-up. That should hold her in good stead for this and early market support suggests she might be ready.
