The danger I actually fear is Want A Winner. Pike jumps on, the horse has been consistent enough (form 4142-6), and even though it only has one Belmont run on record, this is the type of runner that can sit close and pinch a break when everyone else is waiting for the straight. If Pike gets the tempo right, you’ll feel it early.
Others with claims: Atlantic Spirit is a genuine Belmont type with five runs here and has hit the frame three times, so it’s the safer place horse if the race turns into a grind rather than a dash. The Calabrese has three runs at the track and has won once, but the recent form 141544 suggests it’s running honestly without that killer punch.
