Race 3: Roll The Dice Racing Mdn Plate – 1:00pm, 1640m
Stepping out to 1640m changes the calculus: sprint types get exposed and the horses who can sit and sprint take over. Independant Lad has two placings from his last four runs and settled for fifth most recently, but that dip doesn’t erase the pattern underneath it: Jerome Hunter has placed 80% of his Bendigo runners (albeit from a small sample of five), and C Newitt has placed in more than half his rides here from nine attempts. With connections that strong behind him, the extra ground looks more like an opportunity than a risk.
