BEST BET 🏆
Race 1: No.3 TURNAWAY ($2.60 with Bet Right)
The Cameron Crockett-trained TURNAWAY has been racing consistently (without winning) and gets his chance here to ring-up win number one for this campaign. Last start, the Star Turn gelding finished just behind the placegetters (again) when he took home fourth prize in a Class 1 Hcp over the mile at Gosford. Spotting them a start on the turn, he ran home well, doing his best work late. The step up in distance today looks ideal with four starts under his belt this time in with Ash Morgan in the saddle for the first time. He maps to settle just behind them again from gate four and already a track and distance winner, he looks the goods here today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.3 VIS I DO ($3.60 with bet365)
Tamworth galloper VIS I DO is in great touch this time in and looks set here for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Supido gelding finally shook the maiden monkey and broke through for his first win in a 1400m Maiden Plate at Grafton. Coming from near last on the turn, he put in the ‘big ones’ and finished best, recording the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. Rock-hard fit after four runs this preparation, he is joined by Ash Morgan for the first time today and ideally drawn in gate three, he should prove hard to hold out again.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 5: No.6 THE AFFIRMATIVE ($3.20 with BoomBet)
Craig Clegg saddles-up The Affirmative here who found her mojo recently and looks well placed here to go on with it today. Last start, she bounce back after finishing fourth at Tamworth when she beat all but one home in a BM58 Hcp over 1000m at the same track. Coming from mid-field, she set sail after them and ran passed all but Who Goes There who had too many guns on the day. She ran her last 600m, 1.5 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort here by more than 5 lengths. Ash Morgan is in the saddle for the first time with her and is ideally drawn in gate four. Already a track and distance winner, she can give this a real fright today.
