Ballarat Tips 5/5/2025

BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 6 No. 4 SIGNAL- ($2.50)

SIGNAL can just about make it back to back wins when he steps out in Race 6. The Matt Laurie-trained galloper took a bit of time to get going in his career but took out his Maiden in dominant fashion at the track and trip on May 22. He led all the way that day and gave nothing else a chance. The son of Danerich has been a big firmer in the early betting and can lead or box seat from the inside barrier.

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN)

Race 3 No 12  HARTSHORN- ($2.95)

HARTSHORN can break through in Race 3 of the day. The Lloyd Kennewell-trained galloper tackled the Synthetic for the first time on May 22 and produced a personal best when finishing runner-up behind Wiggum. The two-year-old led that day and was overpowered late in the piece but there was a four length gap back to 3rd. Look for him to cross over from the wide barrier and take some running down late in the piece.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4 No. 7 GHIDI- ($3.05)

GHIDI can chalk up the first win of her career when she steps out in Race 4. The three-year-old has finished runner-up on the Ballarat Synthetic at her past two and was luckless two starts ago before being unable to reel in Korolev late in the piece on May 22. That came at the track and trip and she settled worse than midfield in a slowly run race before producing the fastest last 400m and 200m. This one should set up nicely with Cumin Spinner and Saiph to go forward. Jack Hill rides and strikes at 20% from his last 100 rides, providing a 65% profit on turnover for punters.
