Race 6 No. 2 MRS CHRISSIE- ($2.90)

MRS CHRISSIE was costly as a $1.40 favourite when resuming at Warrnambool on February 1 but the Maher/Eustace galloper can bounce back in this race. The four-year-old botched the start at the ‘Bool and was a five-length last on settling. She sat back on what was a slow tempo before running on for 3rd in what was a good effort given the circumstances. Stable have opted for a few gear changes and she draws barrier 4 with John Allen to ride.

Race 5 No. 3 PRAIRIE FLOWER – ($4)

PRAIRIE FLOWER can go close in Race 5. The locally trained filly has placed in two of her past three, with those coming over the 1200m at Flemington. She didn’t quite see out the 1400m at headquarters two starts ago before running on strongly behind Pacific Ruby, who has since claimed a BenchMark 70 at Sandown. The daughter of Star Turn was a winner the only time she raced at the track and saves ground from barrier 1.

Race 4 No. 11 JACKRABBIT JIMMY – ($7)

Nice debut effort by JACKRABBIT JIMMY and the Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained galloper can go aa couple of spots better this time around. She stepped out at Warrnambool on January 25 and led them up over the 1100m before just fading late. The daughter of I Am Invincible comes in with the best last start figures of any runner and can lead again or box seat from the inside barrier.
