Race 4 No. 2 GOTTABESAVVY- ($2.75)

GOTTABESAVVY can make it back to back wins when he steps out in Race 4. The three-year-old has had two runs this time in and was desperately unlucky when resuming over the 1400m at Pakenham before stepping up the 1600m at that venue and winning comfortably ahead of Sharper, while those two put a three length gap on the rest. The son of Savabeel has been strong at the business end in those two runs and should thrive over the 2000m in this company. At his last preparation he didn’t quite handle the Heavy in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase (2040m) before winning at the trip at Moe. That was followed by a solid 3rd behind the likes of Serangoon and Dunkel in a Saturday race at Cranbourne.

Race 5 No 1 AMEGDUL- ($6)

This looks to be a suitable assignment for AMEGDUL. The four-year-old was a winner in this grade three starts ago before tackling a BenchMark 94 at Albury on Cup day over the 1175m and running 7th behind Espirito when never really in it from the wide barrier. He has since tackled the $250,000 VOBIS Gold Sprint at Sandown and did well to flash late for 6th behind D’Jumbuck, beaten three lengths. This is easier and he was a winner at this stage of this last preparation, while the 3kg claim for Fiona Sandkhul gets the son of Medaglia D’Oro down to a winnable weight.
