Race 7: No.11 NAMID ($4.20 with Bet Right)
The locally-trained NAMID has impressed in her introduction to racing scoring twice from three starts and brings strong claims into this contest today. Last start, the Star Turn filly was fresh off a 14-week spell when she led from barrier to box in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1100m. She covered the trip, 5.5 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort in this field. That was win number two and the second time Hannah Williams was in charge. Williams sticks with her again today and ideally drawn in gate three, she will take catching again.

Race 3: No.9 TELL THE FUTURE ($4.80 with bet365)
Down in the weights here, Kembla Grange galloper TELL THE FUTURE has been thereabouts at his past few and with a bit more ground to play with today looks a solid winning chance. Last start the Nostradamus gelding improved enough to beat all but one home in an 1850m Maiden at Newcastle. Unwanted in the market that day ($21), he broke away with Lumiere (winner) and they fought it out before he was beaten half a length on the line. The extra ground should suit today as Grant Buckley takes the reins for the first time. There’s been some interest in him overnight as he firms from $8.50 where his track debut today could be a winning one.

Race 6: No.13 CROATION MADAME ($7.50 with bet365)
Scone galloper CROATION MADAME comes in here with a light weight and could make an impression in this contest. Last start, the Denman mare was a little disappointing when she finished unplaced in a Class 1 Hcp over the mile on her home track, finishing just over four lengths from the winner that day. Prior to that however, she strung together four-straight podium finishes, including a win (two starts back) over 1700m at Wellington. Blake Spriggs has his second ride on the mare today where she has finished top-three previously. If we forgive and forget that last run at Scone, her form suggests she is right in the mix at odds today.
