Race 5:  No.6  LIFE’S A PARTY

The Mark Jones-trained LIFE’S A PARTY comes off two city class events here and looks the testing material in this contest. Tw starts back, the Star Turn mare beat all but one home in a Class 3 Hcp over 1200m at Randwick, then followed that up by finishing fifth against similar company at Rosehill, beaten just two lengths on the line. This is good form to bring into this event as he returns to the country scene today. He has Grant Buckley at the helm as he gets the gun run from gate one where he maps to be box-seating on settling. In great form this prerparation, he looks the best of the day.

Race 6:  No.2  LUAI

Clair Lever saddles-up LUAI here who is three starts into this campaign and looks primed for back-to-back victories in this contest. Last start, the Epaulette gelding was third-up when he cracked it for his first win in a 1400m Maiden right here. From the outside gate (10), he was caught wide, forcing Grant Buckley to push forward and eventually share the lead after 300m. He slowed them up, then on the turn, slipped away and went on with the job, destroying that field as he crossed the line four lengths clear in the end. Carrying 59kgs from that draw, it was a mighty effort to win that easily. He faces the same trip today only this time he jumps from gate two and has Buckley sticking with him. At his peak after three runs back, he will take a power of beating here.

Race 4:  No.7  DUNDAS

A recent arrival to the Gayna Williams camp, DUNDAS has hit the ground running since arriving at his new stable and looks all set here to go on with it today. Last start, the Dundeel gelding came off a first-up Maiden win at Orange when he drew the outside gate in a Class 1 Hcp at Canberra and did well to grab third prize over the longer 1300m trip. Clay Gallagher steered him to that maiden win at Orange and returns here for this assignment. Dropping back to the 1100m today, he strip even fitter after those two runs back and in the smaller field today, he can make his Bathurst debut a winning one at odds.
