BEST BET 🏆

Race 4:  No.4  MARYLAND BRIDGE  ($5.50 with Bet Right)

Three top-two finishes in her three starts to date suggests that MARYLAND BRIDGE has plenty of promise and looks well placed here to keep the trend going today. Last start, the came off her Maiden win on her home track at Dubbo when she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1318m at the same track. She had to track wide on the turn to find clean air and finished strongly to be beaten just half a length on the line. Ideally drawn in gate two today, she maps to settle just behind the speed here and with a trouble-free run, she looks a serious contender to make her track debut a winning one.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.9  BRIEF STATEMENT  ($6.10 with Boombet

Orange-based galloper BRIEF STATEMENT makes her Bathurst debut today and returning to the country scene here, looks well placed to give this a real shake. Last start, the Press Statement mare couldn’t go with them in the city as she finished unplaced in a Class 3 Hwy Hcp over 1100m at Rosehill. She looks far better placed here back on the country scene where all three of her career wins have been recorded. Apprentice, William Stanley, sticks with her here and after his claim, the mare carries a fair weight at 57kgs. She gets all the favours at the starting gates as she jumps from gate one and with a big drop in class today, she looks a solid winning chance here at odds.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.4  RUPERTSON  ($11 with Palmerbet)

The locally-trained RUPERTSON is back to his best and third-up today, looks a serious contender for the main prize in this contest. Last start, the Winning Rupert gelding crossed the line for his second career-win when he beat home a Class 1 field over 1200m at Mudgee. Box-seating to the turn, he collared the front-runner soon after and proved too strong in the run home. He gets the gun-run from gate one today and maps to be box-seating again. Placed twice when third-up previously, he gets his chance here to record his first win on home soil today (after four previous starts ended in four minor placings). In an easier event, he looks overs for this assignment.
