Belmont Tips 03/06/2023

BEST BET 🏆

Race 3 No. 1 SASS MACHINE – ($3.60)

Dion Luciani finds a handy claim from Brandon Louis for his sharp two-year-old in SASS MACHINE. This horse has done plenty of things right to impress in both of his races to date. Led them up at a fast tempo when claimed late by Eliteone in slick time on debut. Pinged the lids to lead over this track and trip before coming back underneath his rider. William Pike Stacked the small field up before giving Sass Machine a little more leather into the straight. Louis will likely find the front and allow his horse to bowl along. Sass Machine just does a few more things right than some of his opposition while stripping fitter again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 7 BITOFMERIT – ($3.10)

Lightly raced gelding BITOFMERIT can prove himself to be up with the stronger gades as he resumes at Belmont Racecourse on Saturday. The first-up specialist camped just off the speed when resuming last time in. Lucy Fiore asked for little effort as Bitofmerit raced to the front into the straight to put a gap on their rivals. Raced twice more last prep to run second in close finishes on both occasions. Fiore asked little again in a recent trial as Bitofmerit did what he had to and no more. Looks forward and fresh enough to figure in the finish to give as he attempts to climb through the classes this prep.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 10 No. 7 ARID – ($15.20)

There could be some pressure on up front which will suit the filly ARID who has gone to new levels this prep. Settled off them when finding Rear Admiral too sharp over 1000 metres at Ascot. Arid hit the line hard over the unsuitable shorter distance to miss the winner by around half-a-length that day. She followed the performance by finishing over the top of Rear Admiral when the pair met over 1200 metres. Upper Limits also got home well in that race to run third. Both of those horses find themselves coming back to the minimum which is in their favour. Arid looks dangerous over this trip and she has been attacking the line with a degree of brilliance.
